For all those people who aren’t aware of
this term, allow me to elaborate.
Basically, In-Car infotainment systems can
be referred to as any source that fulfills the requirement of entertainment
on-the-go.
For all those drivers out there who are out
for a drive and manage to use rear-view camera for reversing their car, or the
navigation system to guide themselves through heavy traffic, listen to their
favorite music through the very popular car audio system which allows you to play
via Bluetooth or an auxiliary jack and keep the people seated at the back
well-entertained with movies on the entertainment video system, then you’re
pretty much familiar with the new concept of this century of infotainment
systems.
The types of systems we’re talking about
aren’t any ordinary systems. They are smart systems that allow you to be at
ease to entertain you through various luxury items throughout your day. These
include the high-class GPS navigation systems, rear and side view camera systems,
and audio systems for entertaining purposes.
In today’s generation, technology is at its
peak. New GPS Navigation systems include
voice recognition, which helps you find your destination while driving easily.
Intel,
a very popular computer chip making brand, has recently launched a PC system
for your car which includes 4x4 GPS navigation which features the ”Aimi System”, that allows you to have door to door, voice
and visual navigation instructions, and moving map features available for off-road
trips.
All this
new technology melts us down to have the urge of everything to be on-the-go,
which leads to multi-tasking all the time. So for our comfort, many designs
have come to our acknowledgement, which can include the smart idea for an
upgrade to our old decks, what we call the Ca-Fi systems.
The
Ca-Fi system is an Android based car infotainment system. Combining Android with vehicles is the future of car
infotainment systems. It features GUI, Navigation, Free-Hand-Calling and G3
internet all at one touch.
Next up,
we have a very useful application known as OBD2 that allows you to check the
status of your engine on-the-go from your smartphone. Via Bluetooth connection, built in internet helps you
connect to Facebook, Twitter or Skype anywhere, anytime.
Another very
interesting kind of infotainment system for your car is the night vision Backup Camera, which helps in guiding you through to reverse or even move forward in
the dark.
All of this can be very distracting for a
driver, which in today’s day has led to a higher rate of accidents all around
the world, and for this a new kind of infotainment has been launched which is
known as the Gesture
Recognition, using a Touch-less Sensor.
This
helps to save time, energy and simply makes life a whole lot easier for us to handle.
The touch-less sensor responds to the simple hand gestures, which allow you to
open the door or close your bonnet on the response of an up, down or sideways
movement of your hand.
Other
sensors include the weather sensor, light sensor and parking sensor, which also
make things a lot easier for us.
The
weather sensor is smart enough to know when the weather requires the usage of turning your wipers on if they sense rain
drops on your wind shield.
The parking
sensors aid you in parking your car with ease without touching your car. It
beeps when you are near to something to alert
you not to go any further to reduce any chances of crashing into something.
The light sensors in your car notify you to turn your
lights on when needed.
Built in screens
in modern SUV’s which tell you the engine status suspension status, tyre
pressure, ride height, terrain selection for off-road or on-road use.
More systems include automatically adjusting seats, which adjust
themselves according to your posture in which you are comfortable, and
temperature control, which maintains temperature which is most comfortable
inside.
Now that’s Car Infotainment!
